In one line: Castmagic and echoflow solve the same problem — turning one recording into dozens of pieces of content — and today they solve it in similar ways: text, chat over the archive, captioned vertical clips. Castmagic speaks mainly to podcasters and creators; echoflow starts from video and works in Italian. The differences that matter are language, currency, volume and how you work across several clients.
On text, we're on the same ground
No point pretending otherwise: transcripts, show notes, articles, newsletters, posts and threads are generated by both, both have chat over the recording, semantic search across the archive (ours via API and connectors) and a way to set the brand's tone of voice. If your work ends there, the choice comes down to price, language and habits.
The pricing, stated plainly
At high volume Castmagic costs less than we do, and there's no point dancing around it. As of 31 October 2026 their Team plan is $139/month billed annually, with 400 transcription hours; our 1,000-minute Pro plan is €49 with up to 10 people and roughly 16 and a half processing hours. If your yardstick is cost per hour transcribed and your volume is high, theirs is the rational choice.
⚠️ An early draft of this paragraph said the opposite: we had read their price list from a partial view and it looked as if there were no plan between $79 and $790. There is one, the Team plan at $139. It's why every figure on this page carries a date.
Where the comparison changes is when you stop counting hours. The Pro plan includes separate workspaces per client (with the 1,000-minute size), white-label, a public API and a monthly report, with final prices in euro: no conversion and no surprises on your statement. Payment goes through Stripe, and support by email in English or Italian.
Video
Here too the ground is shared. Castmagic cuts vertical clips with captions that highlight the word being spoken, refines them in a studio with a timeline and turns audio-only recordings into audiograms; on paid plans clips and audiograms are stated as unlimited. echoflow edits 3 vertical clips per video by default, up to 8 with Pro — picked from the strongest spoken moments — with word-synced animated subtitles and styles you can customise with Pro, plus visual formats (carousels, quote cards, thumbnails) carrying your brand's colour and logo. There is no timeline editor: if clips are the core of your work, their pricing is more generous than ours on volume.
The other differences
- Designed in Italian: product, prompts, output and support built in Italian, with support by
email in English too.
- Final prices in euro instead of a price list in dollars, with secure payment through Stripe.
- Stated data handling: files and content stored in the European Union; transcription and AI
generation also use non-EU providers, named on our sub-processors page, under the safeguards of Articles 44 et seq. GDPR.
- With the Pro plan, the outputs you approve become examples (AI Memory) for later generations.
Where Castmagic is stronger
- Scale and recognition: tens of thousands of users claimed (over 75,000 on the pricing page,
over 100,000 on the homepage) and well-known customers on show, such as HubSpot and Yahoo Sports. We're much smaller and much younger.
- Unlimited clips and audiograms on paid plans, with a timeline editor to refine them.
- Integrations with recording sources (Zoom, Loom, Google Drive) to pull the episode in without
uploading it by hand.
- A Slack community and live chat support on every plan.
What echoflow does not do
- No publishing or scheduling to your channels: we don't ask for access to your social accounts
and store no tokens. We prepare the content; the last click is yours.
- Clips are capped at 8 per video (3 during the trial): you choose how many, how long and how
they're framed, but you don't refine them one by one in an editor.
- Generated media files stay downloadable for 7 days; text content doesn't expire while the account stays active.
- There is no free plan: there's a 14-day trial (60 minutes, up to 10 videos), after which the account stays readable but stops processing.
Castmagic prices and features taken from their public pages on 31 October 2026; echoflow's follow the price list in force since 24 October 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Is echoflow an alternative to Castmagic?
Yes, if you work in Italian or if your recording also has to give you edited vertical clips: on text — transcript, show notes, article, newsletter, posts — we do the same things. Less so if you need direct integrations with recording sources such as Zoom, Loom and Google Drive, if clips are the core of your work, or if you work at high volume: there their pricing is better.
Castmagic already does almost everything — why switch?
On text output and on vertical clips we're on the same ground, and it's only fair to say so. The concrete differences are others: a product, prompts and support designed in Italian (with support in English too), final prices in euro with no currency conversion, and an agency plan with separate workspaces per client and white-label. At high volume — hours transcribed and number of clips — their pricing is more generous than ours, and that deserves saying too.
Do I need a podcast?
No. echoflow starts from any video or audio: webinars, lectures, interviews, event footage, as well as podcasts. Video is treated as video, not as audio with a picture on top.
Are the prices on this page current?
They were taken from their official pages on 31 October 2026 and we re-check them quarterly. Check Castmagic's own pricing page before deciding.
